Francois Chandou Fraud Lawsuit

The Haslam Firm May 26, 2022

Dallas Fraud Case

The Haslam Firm helped Francois Chandou successfully defend a fraud lawsuit brought by the owners of La Cave Warehouse in Dallas more than three years after Francois Chandou sold the business he built for over 30 years into one of the premier leading wine sellers and wine storage business in Dallas Texas. The Chandlers, Kirk and Rhonda Chandler were found liable for $120,000 in attorney fees for the defense of the case by the Haslam Firm.

Robert and Elizabeth Haslam were trial counsel along with Mathew Shadonix. The Chandlers believed and claimed that the financial records were improperly kept and information was not provided that should have been provided. The Defense explained to the jury through expert testimony that all information was provided for the stock sale transaction. The Chandous argued that the Chandlers did not have sufficient experience to understand the highly competitive and sophisticated wine market. In December 2018 the jury after a one week trial found no liability and the Judge ordered the Chandler defendants to pay the attorney fees of Francois Chandou in the defense of the case.
